• About

Fast, measurable WordPress and WooCommerce web design for Cape Town businesses. Built on Bricks, priced honestly, proven by names like Foschini, Cabin Fever Escapes and Mellivora Technology.

Web design in Cape Town, without the agency theatre

Cape Town has more web design agencies per square kilometre than anywhere else in South Africa. Most of them will tell you they are passionate about your brand. We would rather show you numbers.

one2love has been designing and building websites for Cape Town businesses since 2002. For names you know, like Foschini and Herschel Girls School, and for names you are about to know, like Cabin Fever Escapes and Mellivora Technology. Our studio is in Plettenberg Bay. The work lives everywhere.

What that gets you is senior people on your project from the first call, no account-manager relay race, and a build that is measured, literally measured, before we call it done.

Cape Town work

A few projects worth clicking into, all built for Cape Town businesses:

The gallery below shows the rest. Every project tagged Cape Town is real Cape Town work, not stock-photo set dressing.

Fast is the feature

Most websites are slow because nobody ever measured them. Ours are fast because we always do.

We build on Bricks, a lean WordPress framework, instead of heavyweight page builders. When we rebuilt Rockfig Lodge’s Elementor site on Bricks, the time to first image dropped from 21 seconds to 4.4 on a mid-range phone. The Jewels & Time rebuild cut total blocking time by more than 80%. We publish these numbers because we keep them. Every significant build ships with a before-and-after.

If your current site was built on Elementor and feels heavy, we do this exact migration as a fixed piece of work. Same design, faster site.

Online shops that actually sell

For Cape Town retailers we build on WooCommerce. Asara’s wine shop, KLûK CGDT’s fashion store and Room Service’s homeware store all run on it. Where Shopify is the better fit we build there instead, as we did for Emperor Gin. The platform question is one we answer with you, not for you.

What it costs

Honest answer, because almost nobody in this market gives one: custom websites typically range from about R12,000 to R96,000 and beyond, depending on scope. We have worked at every point on that range, from one-page sites to full e-commerce builds. Every quote is fixed before we start. No hourly surprises.

Cape Town is not remote for us

Kirstin, our co-founder, is in Cape Town often. In-person kickoffs and check-ins are easy to arrange, and everything between meetings happens the way it already does with any good agency: video calls, shared boards, and a build you can click on from day one. The difference is that Cape Town rent never appears on your invoice.

Planet Africa Safaris Website

Planet Africa Safaris approached us to reimagine their existing website with a focus on elevating its visual impact and user experience. Starting with a comprehensive UI/UX assessment, we identified key opportunities to improve structure, performance, and SEO, ensuring the new site would not only look beautiful but work harder for the business.

Designed in Figma and built in WordPress using Bricks, the result is a clean, modern, and highly visual platform that lets their exceptional imagery take centre stage. The new site offers a more intuitive journey through destinations and experiences, creating an inspiring and seamless experience for travellers exploring Africa.

Emperor Gin Website

Emperor Gin needed a simple yet sophisticated online store to showcase and sell their small-batch South African gins. We built a streamlined Shopify website that brings the brand to life; clean, intuitive, and mobile-first. The result is an elegant e-commerce experience that lets the product take centre stage, while keeping the path to purchase refreshingly smooth.

Design Week South Africa Website

We partnered with Design Week South Africa to convert their website from Elementor to Bricks Builder, improving speed, stability, and design consistency. Along with hosting, we developed a custom Design Directory that allows creatives to register, submit listings, and be discovered through intuitive filtering, creating a faster site and a stronger platform for the South African design community.

Mellivora Technology Website

We partnered with Mellivora Technology to design and develop a dynamic new WordPress website that reflects their forward-thinking approach to cybersecurity. Built using Bricks and designed in Figma, the site was brought to life with engaging design elements and smooth interactions throughout. The CMS grants the Mellivora team complete control over content, encompassing team members, success stories, vendors, services, and solutions. The result is a modern, fast, and flexible website that supports both their growth and evolving digital presence.

The Beanstalk Website Refresh 2024

The Beanstalk has been crafting legendary events and unforgettable brand experiences for over 14 years. Our journey with them began with creating a custom WordPress platform featuring an event management system that showcases their creative excellence. In 2024, we elevated their digital presence through a technology upgrade, transitioning from Elementor to Bricks, while implementing their refreshed visual identity. The enhanced platform continues to empower their team to showcase their stunning portfolio of events, from intimate gatherings to large-scale productions.

Room Service Homeware Website

When they approached us to create their online shopping experience, we knew the e-commerce platform needed to reflect the same warmth and sophistication as their premium bedding collection. From plush duvet inners to luxuriously soft sheets, woven blankets that invite you to curl up, and elegant curtains that frame your space, their products transform bedrooms into peaceful sanctuaries. Our team designed and built a seamless digital storefront that allows customers to easily explore and purchase these home essentials, bringing the comfort of Room Service Homeware just a click away.

Custom websites typically range from about R12,000 for a sharp one-page site to R96,000 and beyond for full e-commerce builds. Where you land depends on scope: pages, custom design, content, integrations. Two things stay constant. The quote is fixed before we start, and there are no hourly surprises. If you have a budget in mind, tell us. We will tell you honestly what it buys.

Yes. Kirstin, our co-founder, is in Cape Town regularly, so in-person kickoffs and check-ins are easy to arrange. Between meetings, projects run on video calls, shared boards and a build you can click on from day one.

We do. Most of our stores run on WooCommerce, like KLûK CGDT’s fashion store and Room Service Homeware’s online shop. Where Shopify fits better, we build there instead, as we did for Emperor Gin. We help you choose based on your products, your margins and how you want to run the back office.

Yes, and it is one of our favourite jobs. We rebuild your existing design on Bricks, a leaner WordPress framework, keeping the look and fixing the weight. When we did this for Rockfig Lodge, the time to first image dropped from 21 seconds to 4.4. It is a fixed-price piece of work with a before-and-after report included.

Usually within two to four weeks, depending on the pipeline. We would rather give you a real date than a flattering one. Once we start, you get a working build to click on early, not a big reveal at the end.

Yes. We create artwork for both print and digital use, so your brand can stay consistent across brochures, flyers, social media, presentations, websites, and campaign assets.

A graphic designer helps shape how your business looks and communicates visually. This can include logos, brochures, social media graphics, posters, presentations, packaging, signage, and other brand materials. The aim is to make your brand feel professional, consistent, and easy to recognise.

A Brochure Website is your company’s digital profile. Its primary goal is to establish online presence, build credibility, and provide essential information to your customers.

Typically ranging from 1 to 10 pages, it acts as a 24/7 sales representative that showcases your services, your brand story, and how people can contact you. While it doesn’t include complex features like online stores or member portals, it is the essential foundation for any professional business looking to turn “searchers” into “clients.”

The Short Version: A CMS, or Content Management System, is the software behind your website that allows you to update content like text, images, and blog posts without needing to write a single line of code. Think of it as the “dashboard” for your digital home.

Our Specific Stack: We don’t just give you a generic CMS; we build a high-performance engine tailored to your business using three core tools:

  • WordPress: The world’s most popular and flexible CMS. It provides the foundation, ensuring your site is scalable, secure, and “future-proof.”
  • Bricks Builder: Unlike “bloated” page builders that slow sites down, Bricks allows us to write clean, lightning-fast code visually. It ensures your site is high-performance and ranks better on Google.
  • ACF (Advanced Custom Fields): This is where the magic happens for you. We use ACF to create a bespoke editing experience. Instead of getting lost in complex settings, you’ll have simple, labeled boxes to fill in. If you want to change a team member’s bio or a business listing attribute, you just type it in and hit “Update.”

We start with a discovery phase where we discuss your goals, target audience, and design preferences. We will need your branding assets (logo, fonts) and your content (text and images). If you don’t have high-quality images or copy, we can discuss adding copywriting and art direction to your package.

The timeline varies depending on the complexity of the project (e.g., a one-page microsite vs. a full e-commerce platform). Generally, a standard corporate website takes between 4 to 8 weeks from the strategy phase to launch. We will provide a detailed timeline after assessing your specific requirements.

Yes. We often find that a new website is the perfect catalyst for a brand refresh. Our creative team can work with you to refine your logo, colour palette, and brand guidelines to ensure your new digital presence is consistent, modern, and impactful.

Good design and SEO go hand-in-hand. We build websites with clean code, fast load times, and proper structure (headings, metadata, and schema). This technical foundation makes it easier for search engines to understand your content and rank you for local search terms relevant to your Cape Town audience.

Yes, we work with clients across South Africa and internationally. We have streamlined our remote collaboration process to ensure seamless communication. We understand the Cape Town market deeply and can deliver world-class web design without you needing to step foot in our office.

Cape Town is one of South Africa’s most competitive business hubs, from boutique tourism to tech startups. To stand out in this crowded market, a generic website isn’t enough. Our web design services for Cape Town businesses focus on creating high-impact, fast-loading websites that capture the city’s unique energy and give you a competitive edge.

Yes, we build robust e-commerce platforms using WooCommerce. Whether you are selling luxury homeware, booking travel experiences, or offering digital downloads, we create secure, easy-to-manage online stores that convert visitors into customers.

Absolutely. We specialise in refactoring and migrating legacy websites to modern standards. We can take your existing design and rebuild it in Bricks to improve its speed, security, and manageability without losing the visual essence of your brand.

We believe your digital presence should be as unique as your business. While we use WordPress as our foundation, we design and build custom layouts tailored to your brand’s specific goals. We don’t rely on “cookie-cutter” templates; we build strategic digital solutions that tell your story.

We prioritise speed, performance, and clean code. Unlike older page builders that can slow down a site with unnecessary code, Bricks Builder allows us to create websites that are lightning-fast and score highly on Google’s Core Web Vitals. This ensures your visitors have a smooth experience and your SEO ranking potential is maximised.

Yes. Many of our clients are small to mid-sized businesses. We scale our process to your needs, ensuring you get a professional site whether you’re a boutique café, creative entrepreneur, or growing company.

Absolutely. All our designs are responsive, meaning they automatically adapt to different screen sizes for a consistent experience.

Yes. If you already have a logo and brand identity, we’ll design your site to reflect it. That is almost always the suggested approach. If not, we can help develop a new look and feel that works both online and in print.

Web design focuses on how your website looks and feels, including its layout, colours, images, and overall user experience. Web development encompasses the technical aspects, including coding and functionality, that support the design. We offer both, but this page is specifically about design.

Absolutely. We can refresh your current site with an updated design, optimised performance, and improved responsiveness across devices.

Yes. We offer managed WordPress website hosting, updates, and performance support so your website remains secure and up to date with no effort on your part.

Pricing varies depending on your needs. A simple brochure-style site (perfect for local Plettenberg Bay businesses or any other small website) starts at a modest rate, while fully custom corporate solutions or e-commerce platforms require a larger investment. Contact us for a tailored quote.
