Frequently Asked Questions
Can we meet in person if we are in Cape Town?
Yes. Kirstin, our co-founder, is in Cape Town regularly, so in-person kickoffs and check-ins are easy to arrange. Between meetings, projects run on video calls, shared boards and a build you can click on from day one.
Can you build our website if we are in Johannesburg?
Yes. Most of our Johannesburg work happens remotely, and it suits everyone. Projects run on video calls, a shared board and a live build you can click on from the first week. Cotton Fest and Clout both ran this way, and both shipped on time.
Can you create a social media strategy for us?
Definitely. Posting without a plan rarely works. We analyse your audience and competitors to build a bespoke strategy. This includes content pillars, tone of voice, and visual direction to ensure every post serves a business goal.
Can you design custom packaging for our products?
Yes. We love bringing products to life through physical packaging. From labels and boxes to eco-friendly packaging solutions, we design structural and visual elements that stand out on the shelf and align with your brand story.
Can you handle our brand and our website together?
Yes, and it is usually cheaper than splitting them. When the same team designs the identity and builds the site, the brand arrives on the web intact rather than being reinterpreted by someone who was not in the room. Most of our Plettenberg Bay clients came to us for one and stayed for both.
Can you help refresh our logo and brand identity before building the website?
Yes. We often find that a new website is the perfect catalyst for a brand refresh. Our creative team can work with you to refine your logo, colour palette, and brand guidelines to ensure your new digital presence is consistent, modern, and impactful.
Can you help us migrate our existing site from Elementor to Bricks?
Absolutely. We specialise in refactoring and migrating legacy websites to modern standards. We can take your existing design and rebuild it in Bricks to improve its speed, security, and manageability without losing the visual essence of your brand.
Can you help us with content creation for our website?
Yes. A beautiful website needs compelling words to convert visitors. We offer content strategy and copywriting services to ensure your brand voice is clear, persuasive, and optimised for search engines.
Can you help with both print and digital design?
Yes. We create artwork for both print and digital use, so your brand can stay consistent across brochures, flyers, social media, presentations, websites, and campaign assets.
Can you match my existing brand style to my web design?
Yes. If you already have a logo and brand identity, we’ll design your site to reflect it. That is almost always the suggested approach. If not, we can help develop a new look and feel that works both online and in print.
Can you redesign an existing website?
Absolutely. We can refresh your current site with an updated design, optimised performance, and improved responsiveness across devices.
Can you refresh our existing brand material without rebranding everything?
Absolutely. Not every project needs a full rebrand. Sometimes a thoughtful refresh of your current design assets can improve clarity, consistency, and overall polish without losing the brand recognition you have already built.
Can you work within our existing brand guidelines?
Yes. A good deal of our design work is done inside someone else’s brand, for clients who already have guidelines and need the design capacity. We will follow what exists and flag anything that is working against you rather than quietly changing it.
Do we need to meet in person to get a website built?
No. Most of our projects run over email, calls and a shared brief, wherever the client is. That said, George is an easy drive from us, so if a face to face session would help at the start, say so and we will arrange it.
Do you build online stores for Cape Town retailers?
We do. Most of our stores run on WooCommerce, like KLûK CGDT’s fashion store and Room Service Homeware’s online shop. Where Shopify fits better, we build there instead, as we did for Emperor Gin. We help you choose based on your products, your margins and how you want to run the back office.
Do you design for print as well as screen?
Yes, and often for both on the same brand. We handle packaging, brochures, signage, adverts and stationery alongside the digital work, so one team keeps the brand consistent everywhere it appears. We supply print ready artwork and will liaise with your printer if that is easier.
Do you design in Figma before building the website?
Yes. For custom projects, we start with a design phase in Figma. This allows you to see exactly how your website will look and function before we write a single line of code. It streamlines the process and ensures we are perfectly aligned on the visual direction.
Do you design large-format print items like banners or signage?
Yes. Whether you need vehicle branding, event banners, or shopfront signage, we create high-resolution, print-ready vector files that scale perfectly to any size without losing quality.
Do you design packaging?
Yes. Packaging is a regular part of our work. The Aduna range, including their Black Maca, Shilajit and Superfood Blends products, was designed by us and sells in retail. Packaging has its own rules around dielines, print tolerances and legal copy, and we work to them.
Do you design websites for small businesses?
Yes. Many of our clients are small to mid-sized businesses. We scale our process to your needs, ensuring you get a professional site whether you’re a boutique café, creative entrepreneur, or growing company.
Do you handle hosting and maintenance?
Yes. We offer managed WordPress website hosting, updates, and performance support so your website remains secure and up to date with no effort on your part.

Do you offer Google Ads (PPC) management?
Yes. We design and manage targeted Pay-Per-Click (PPC) campaigns that put your brand in front of the right customers instantly. From keyword research to ad copy and budget management, we ensure your ad spend delivers a measurable return on investment (ROI).
Do you offer layout design for magazines or corporate reports?
Yes. We specialise in editorial design, ensuring your annual reports, magazines, or company profiles are structured professionally. We focus on readability, typography, and layout flow to keep your readers engaged page after page.
Do you only work with businesses in Plettenberg Bay?
No. We work with clients locally, across South Africa, and internationally. Being based in Plettenberg Bay gives us a strong local perspective, but our process works just as well remotely.
Do you use templates, or is every website custom-designed?
We believe your digital presence should be as unique as your business. While we use WordPress as our foundation, we design and build custom layouts tailored to your brand’s specific goals. We don’t rely on “cookie-cutter” templates; we build strategic digital solutions that tell your story.
Do you work with businesses in George?
Yes. We are based in Plettenberg Bay, on the same stretch of the Garden Route, and we work with clients across South Africa and abroad. George is one of the closest markets to our studio. We have not published a George case study yet, so ask us for the work closest to what you need and we will show you the real thing.
Do you work with Plettenberg Bay businesses on branding?
Yes, and it is where a lot of our work sits. Plettenberg Bay clients in our portfolio include Firefly Jewellers, Hutton Medical, Bayview Hotel and Chalc, across branding, print and digital. Being local means we can meet properly, which tends to make brand work faster.
Have you built websites for Knysna businesses?
Yes. Oakhill School in Knysna is one of ours. Most of our published work sits a little further along the coast in Plettenberg Bay and Cape Town, and we are happy to walk you through whichever of those is closest to your situation.
Have you worked with Johannesburg brands before?
We have. Cotton Fest came to us for a microsite in 2020 and returned for the full festival site in 2024. We also built the online home of Clout, a celebration of African design. The work gallery on this page shows everything tagged Johannesburg.
How does your web design help with local SEO in Cape Town?
Good design and SEO go hand-in-hand. We build websites with clean code, fast load times, and proper structure (headings, metadata, and schema). This technical foundation makes it easier for search engines to understand your content and rank you for local search terms relevant to your Cape Town audience.
How far are you from Knysna?
About half an hour. Our studio is in Plettenberg Bay, so Knysna is the closest town to us of any we work in. Most of the project still runs remotely, but being nearby makes an in person kick off easy when it helps.
How long does a typical web design project take?
The timeline varies depending on the complexity of the project (e.g., a one-page microsite vs. a full e-commerce platform). Generally, a standard corporate website takes between 4 to 8 weeks from the strategy phase to launch. We will provide a detailed timeline after assessing your specific requirements.
How much does web design cost in Cape Town?
Custom websites typically range from about R12,000 for a sharp one-page site to R96,000 and beyond for full e-commerce builds. Where you land depends on scope: pages, custom design, content, integrations. Two things stay constant. The quote is fixed before we start, and there are no hourly surprises. If you have a budget in mind, tell us. We will tell you honestly what it buys.
How much does web design cost?
Pricing varies depending on your needs. A simple brochure-style site (perfect for local Plettenberg Bay businesses or any other small website) starts at a modest rate, while fully custom corporate solutions or e-commerce platforms require a larger investment. Contact us for a tailored quote.
How soon can you start?
Usually within two to four weeks, depending on the pipeline. We would rather give you a real date than a flattering one. Once we start, you get a working build to click on early, not a big reveal at the end.
I am based in Cape Town; can we work with one2love even if you are in Plettenberg Bay?
Yes, we work with clients across South Africa and internationally. We have streamlined our remote collaboration process to ensure seamless communication. We understand the Cape Town market deeply and can deliver world-class web design without you needing to step foot in our office.
I need business cards and brochures. Can you handle print design?
Absolutely. We believe your brand should look as good in hand as it does on screen. We design business cards, brochures, corporate reports, and packaging. We can also liaise with trusted printers to ensure the final product meets the design quality standards.
If my website goes down or gets hacked, do you handle it?
If you are hosted with us on our Concierge plan, we take immediate action. We implement proactive security measures to prevent hacks, but in the unlikely event of an issue, our team is on hand to restore backups and secure the site quickly.
Our guesthouse website is slow on phones. Can that be fixed without a rebuild?
Usually, yes. Slow sites are most often caused by oversized images, a bloated page builder and no caching, and all three can be fixed on the existing site. We will tell you upfront if the foundation is too weak to be worth rescuing, rather than charging you for both.
Our site is on Elementor and it is slow. Can you fix it without a redesign?
Yes, and it is one of our favourite jobs. We rebuild your existing design on Bricks, a leaner WordPress framework, keeping the look and fixing the weight. When we did this for Rockfig Lodge, the time to first image dropped from 21 seconds to 4.4. It is a fixed-price piece of work with a before-and-after report included.
We run a tourism business in George. Can the site handle enquiries and bookings?
Yes. We build enquiry forms, availability requests and booking integrations regularly for hospitality and tourism clients along the Garden Route. Tell us which system you use and we will tell you honestly whether it integrates cleanly or whether you would be better off changing it.
What do you need from us to get started?
We start with a discovery phase where we discuss your goals, target audience, and design preferences. We will need your branding assets (logo, fonts) and your content (text and images). If you don’t have high-quality images or copy, we can discuss adding copywriting and art direction to your package.
What do you need from us to get started?
Usually, we begin with a conversation about your goals, audience, timeline, and what assets you need. If you already have a logo, colours, fonts, or existing material, that is helpful. If not, we can guide you from the ground up.
What do you need from us to start a design project?
A clear idea of what the piece has to achieve, any brand assets you already hold, and the practical constraints: sizes, deadlines, print specs, where it will appear. If you do not have all of that, we will help you work it out. The brief is the cheapest part of the project to get right.
What does a graphic designer do for a business?
A graphic designer helps shape how your business looks and communicates visually. This can include logos, brochures, social media graphics, posters, presentations, packaging, signage, and other brand materials. The aim is to make your brand feel professional, consistent, and easy to recognise.
What does a website cost for a George business?
Website projects run from R12,000 to R96,000 and beyond, depending on scope. A single page site sits at the bottom of that range and a large content or ecommerce build sits at the top. We quote a fixed price before any work starts, so there are no surprises later.
What is a “Brochure Website”?
A Brochure Website is your company’s digital profile. Its primary goal is to establish online presence, build credibility, and provide essential information to your customers.
Typically ranging from 1 to 10 pages, it acts as a 24/7 sales representative that showcases your services, your brand story, and how people can contact you. While it doesn’t include complex features like online stores or member portals, it is the essential foundation for any professional business looking to turn “searchers” into “clients.”
What is a “One-Page Website,” and is it right for me?
A One-Page Website is a streamlined site where all content sits on a single, long-scrolling page. It is perfect for portfolios, events, or single-product launches. It’s a cost-effective way to get professional impact without the complexity of a multi-page build.
What is a CMS? (And why do you use WordPress, Bricks, and ACF?)
The Short Version: A CMS, or Content Management System, is the software behind your website that allows you to update content like text, images, and blog posts without needing to write a single line of code. Think of it as the “dashboard” for your digital home.
Our Specific Stack: We don’t just give you a generic CMS; we build a high-performance engine tailored to your business using three core tools:
- WordPress: The world’s most popular and flexible CMS. It provides the foundation, ensuring your site is scalable, secure, and “future-proof.”
- Bricks Builder: Unlike “bloated” page builders that slow sites down, Bricks allows us to write clean, lightning-fast code visually. It ensures your site is high-performance and ranks better on Google.
- ACF (Advanced Custom Fields): This is where the magic happens for you. We use ACF to create a bespoke editing experience. Instead of getting lost in complex settings, you’ll have simple, labeled boxes to fill in. If you want to change a team member’s bio or a business listing attribute, you just type it in and hit “Update.”
What is included in your “Brand Guidelines” service?
Our brand guidelines serve as the “bible” for your visual identity. Depending on your needs, this can include usage rules for your logo, typography, colour codes (CMYK/RGB/Hex), and imagery style. This ensures that anyone working on your brand, whether for print or digital, maintains perfect consistency.
What is included in your WordPress Concierge Service?
Think of it as a valet service for your website. We handle the technical maintenance so you can focus on your business. This includes secure hosting, regular software updates, daily backups, and security monitoring. We also include various technologies to automatically boost your site speed.
What is the difference between SEO and PPC?
SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) is a long-term strategy to improve your organic ranking on Google and generate free traffic over time. PPC (Pay-Per-Click) is a paid strategy where you pay for immediate visibility at the top of search results. We often recommend a blend of both for the best results.
What is the difference between web design and web development?
Web design focuses on how your website looks and feels, including its layout, colours, images, and overall user experience. Web development encompasses the technical aspects, including coding and functionality, that support the design. We offer both, but this page is specifically about design.
Why do you build websites using Bricks Builder instead of other page builders?
We prioritise speed, performance, and clean code. Unlike older page builders that can slow down a site with unnecessary code, Bricks Builder allows us to create websites that are lightning-fast and score highly on Google’s Core Web Vitals. This ensures your visitors have a smooth experience and your SEO ranking potential is maximised.

Why is professional web design crucial for businesses in Cape Town?
Cape Town is one of South Africa’s most competitive business hubs, from boutique tourism to tech startups. To stand out in this crowded market, a generic website isn’t enough. Our web design services for Cape Town businesses focus on creating high-impact, fast-loading websites that capture the city’s unique energy and give you a competitive edge.
Will my website design work on mobile devices?
Absolutely. All our designs are responsive, meaning they automatically adapt to different screen sizes for a consistent experience.
